Trackers/The Valley Ahlam Shibli
© Ahlam Shibli, The Valley, 2008 Ahlam Shibli was born in 1970 in Palestine. Wishing to come to an understanding of her own living conditions, she has dealt in several recent projects with the situation of the Palestinian population under Israeli rule. Trackers is a series of photographs taken in 2005. It is concerned with the Palestinians of Bedouin descent who served or are serving as volunteers in the Israeli Army. The project researches the price a minority is forced to pay to the majority, maybe to be accepted, maybe to change its identity, maybe to survive, or maybe all of this and more.
