Poets are immensely popular in the East, where poetry is considered a living art. Whenever Mahmoud Darwich gives a recital in Cairo, Beirut or Algiers, crowds assemble to intone his verses with him. The film by Simone Bitton seeks to share this popular fervour and emotion.
